Working Student (f/m/d) - Translation & Localization Project Support Job Opening In Sankt Leon-Rot – Now Hiring SAP

What you'll do

In close cooperation with colleagues in your the translation service team and the service owner, you will provide end-to-end services for the translation and quality assurance of software products.
This includes:

  • Project management

  • Pre- and post-processing of translation projects, such as:
    Translation memory (TM) software maintenance (e.g. clean-up activities)

  • File conversion

  • Terminology work

  • Quality assurance measures

  • Linguistic quality checks

  • Processing of test/problem tickets

  • Implementation of translation corrections

  • Other activities as required

  • Other administrative activities as required
  • What you bring

  • Student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences

  • Preferred fields of study: Translation or language studies with German and/or English and a related subject, ideally of a technical nature, such as computational linguistics or management information systems

  • Computer skills: Knowledge of Microsoft products, basic knowledge of standard translation tools like translation memory software, ideally technical knowledge of software localization and related artificial intelligence (machine translation etc.)

  • Language skills: Good command of German and English and, ideally, native speaker of an additional language.

    Knowledge of more languages is an asset.

  • Soft skills: Self-driven team player, ability to work independently and with a high degree of accuracy, motivated task ‘finder’

  • Others: Interest in business and IT, prior experience is a plus

    As part of SAP Globalization, Language Experience (LX) Lab is SAP’s central unit for language technology and services.

    We are responsible for managing the translation of SAP products and related content into ~72 languages.

    We build and maintain tools for SAP’s translation infrastructure and for the services we offer.



    We are currently looking for a working student to assist with a variety of project management and quality assurance tasks in software translation service teams.



    We offer a 6-month contract for up to 20 hours per week during the university term and up to 40 hours per week during the university break.

    Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships).

    Please also describe your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
