<p>Our <strong>Platform teams</strong> are responsible for connecting with engineers across the organization to enable SumUppers to build, run, and communicate innovative and cohesive products & services - globally, at scale.</p>
<p>We are looking for a<strong> Senior Software Engineer </strong>to join our <strong>Data Streaming</strong> team.
In this role, you will be a key player in building and scaling our streaming infrastructure to support critical, near-real-time data processing for our global business.

<p><strong>What you’ll do</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Build and scale our streaming infrastructure using technologies like <strong>Kafka, Apache Spark/Flink, and Snowflake.</strong></li>
<li>Ensure the reliability and security of the infrastructure using Kubernetes (k8s) and Infrastructure as Code (IaaC).</li>
<li>Contribute to the architecture and define best practices for our Data Platform.</li>
<li>Collaborate with data producers and consumers across the company to build seamless, efficient data pipelines.</li>
<li>Mentor and upskill your fellow SumUppers on best practices for Kafka and stream processing.</li>
<li>Provide on-call support for our critical Data Platform infrastructure.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>You’ll be great for this role if</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>5+ years of experience as a Software or Infrastructure Engineer.</li>
<li>Solid experience in at least one programming language like Java, Go, or Python.</li>
<li>Strong experience with Terraform.</li>
<li>Proven experience maintaining critical data infrastructure for a large user base.</li>
<li>Direct experience with Kafka and/or data processing engines like Apache Flink or Spark.</li>
<li>Knowledge of observability stacks such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Honeycomb.</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em>Nice to have:</em></span><strong><br></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) experience.</li>
<li>Experience with distributed databases or data warehouses.</li>
<li>Knowledge of ETL/data services like Airflow, DBT, Snowflake, or DataBricks.</li>
<li>Familiarity with data cataloging tools.</li>
</ul>
