The role
We are looking for a quality-driven Senior QA Engineer (m/f/d) to join our growing engineering team.
In this role, you will take ownership of ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through strategic test planning, automation, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
You will play a key role in embedding quality early in the development lifecycle and continuously improving our QA processes and tool landscape.
This is a fixed-term position for two years to cover parental leave.
Responsibilities:Proactively identify opportunities to improve our QA processes and drive their implementation across teamsEvaluate and pilot new tools and technologies in the field of test automation, bringing fresh ideas and innovation into the teamCollaborate closely with DevOps, development, and product management to embed quality early in the development processDesign and implement strategies for end-to-end, API, and performance testing to ensure comprehensive coverageAnalyze test metrics and derive actionable measures to continuously improve product qualityDocument test processes and actively share knowledge and best practices within the QA and engineering teams What we are looking for
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in software quality assuranceStrong hands-on experience with Playwright, TypeScript, Selenium, or similar for both UI and API testingFamiliarity with Swagger for API documentation and test preparationExperience with CI/CD environments (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins)Understanding of agile development processes (Scrum, Kanban)Strong analytical and systematic thinking skillsAbility to work effectively in fully remote teams – proactive communication and coordinationExperience with test strategies such as regression testing, exploratory testing, and smoke testingProfessional-level English proficiency (written and spoken)Interest in and initial hands-on experience with AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, AI-assisted test generation)Nice to have:Experience with performance and load testing (e.g., k6, JMeter)Experience with security and penetration testingFamiliarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure)Experience with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr)Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Grafana, ELK Stack)German language skills Why Xempus
