Our theory group invites applications for a master thesis in the field of quantum many-spin dynamics in Nitrogen-Vacancy (NV) centers in diamond, which are a promising platform for quantum-technology applications.
The open question addressed is the importance of quantum effects in the spin-bath dynamics.
The goal is to understand in which cases a classical description of the spin bath is sufficient and when quantum properties need to be considered.
You will have the opportunity to work both on a basic scientific question and gain insights in possible applications.
