The development team in Ehningen is part of IBM’s worldwide business automation organization.
Engineers of our team work in an agile development environment, and are responsible for the full software development life cycle - ranging from designing and implementing new product features through testing and supporting customers world-wide in continuous delivery process.
**Your role and responsibilities**
Our development teams in Ehningen are looking for a skilled working student  with a focus on back-end development, though front-end skills are also a plus.
A minimum commitment of 6 months is preferred.
Your main responsibilities includes designing and implementing new features, optimizing and maintaining existing code, and ensuring the software meets high-quality standards through testing.
You also work closely with other teams in the world wide team.

**Required technical and professional expertise**
* Strong background in software development - back-end development and/or front-end development
* Expertise in programming languages such as Java and JavaScript as well as Kubernetes and containers.
* Embrace the challenge of change and constant learning
* Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving techniques
* Very good team player, but also able to work independently
* Strong communication skills
* Good knowledge in written and spoken English
**Preferred technical and professional experience**
* Expertise in programming languages such as Java or JavaScript
* Knowledge about integration with Kafka, databases and user directories
* Experience with version control and CI/CD systems like git and ArgoCD
* Experience in development of software provided as a service is benefitial
* German: fluent
