Foreign Exchange Technology

We’re looking for a Lead Engineer (f/m/x) in RMS Trade Processing team in Foreign Exchange Technology (FX) domain of the Deutsche Bank.

Global Foreign Exchange (GFX) is a vital part of the DB Investment Bank that provides our clients with many ways to exchange currencies and manage currency risk.

Deutsche Bank has been ranked the Overall FX Market Leader by Euromoney FX Survey.

GFX heavily relies on its technology to stay ahead of the competition.

Our products are used by thousands of external clients as well as hundreds of internal trading and sales desks and operations.

They provide connectivity with brokers, exchanges and clearing houses.

Development of our products gives engineers a unique ability to learn business, work with big data and analytics.

RMS Trade processing is a platform that allows trade capturing and trade life cycle processing of FX&Commodity trades to support groups from Trading and Structuring to Operations under the GFX Trading desk activities.

The current technical stack includes Java, Kotlin, REST web services, Oracle, GCP.

As a Lead Java Engineer (f/m/x), you would drive & contribute to the technology strategy, simplifying the technology stack with cutting edge modern technologies like Google cloud suite and Java micro-services.

You would work with architects & Business stakeholders to solve problems with agile methodologies to release features every sprint and deliver high quality software engineering solutions.

Your key responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing or performing work on the bank's IT Platform/Infrastructure including analysis, development, and administration

  • Drive and lead entire engineering solutions to accomplish business goals

  • Building reliability and resiliency into solutions with appropriate testing and reviewing throughout the delivery lifecycle

  • Ensuring solutions are well architected and in line with product strategy and can be integrated successfully into the end-to-end business process flow

  • Mentor and motivate junior team members

  • Improve and contribute into existing SDLC and Support processes

  • Your skills and experiences

  • Profound multi-annual experience and excellent knowledge of Java programming language (collections, multi-threading, networking), Frameworks - Spring, Springboot, Hibernate, SQL and/or noSQL solutions

  • Work with messaging queues like Kafka, Solace, IBM MQ, databases technologies of Oracle Exadata, containerization with Docker, Kubernetes etc.

  • Shift-left testing with TDD/BDD, Jacoco, Cucumber, Junit, Mockito, Gatling etc.

  • Good Knowledge of Microservices Architecture, Grafana, Open-API, Rest Services & Google Cloud Platform

  • People and project leadership experience

  • Experience with modern SDLC tools - Git, JIRA, Artifactory, Jenkins/TeamCity, OpenShift

  • Experience of working within Agile frameworks is essential as are strong communication skills and teamwork
