12 month appointment pool.


We are establishing an appointment pool for vacancies that arise up to 12 months from the first appointment.


Appointments may be made on a full-time, part-time, casual, permanent or fixed-term basis with possible further term and and/or permanency.


Suitable candidates will be placed in the appointment pool from which opportunities may be offered as vacancies arise.

Candidates may also be considered for similar positions within South Metropolitan TAFE as they arise during the life of the pool.

If the appointment pool is exhausted prior to the pool expiry date, we reserve the right to supplement the pool through further advertising.

About the role
The Head of Programs (HoP) is an integral position within the Portfolio leadership team and is responsible for co-ordinating the academic administration within the Portfolio.

The position reports to the Portfolio Manager and collaborates closely with the Principal Lecturer, Lecturers, Technicians, and the administration teams.


HoPs will fulfil 50% of their FTE completing academic administrative work as outlined above with the remaining 50% completing Lecturer duties as outlined in the Lecturer role statement.


Applicants must hold a relevant tertiary or industry trade or qualification that is relevant to your industry.

It is preferred that applicants already possess a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or higher recognised teaching qualification) or can demonstrate progression towards the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

However, applicants without the above are still eligible to apply but must obtain the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment consistent with the provisions of Clause 86 Training and Lecturing Qualifications and Clause 31 Progression of the General Agreement.


To be successful in this role you will have academic administrative process and systems knowledge and a minimum of 5 years of vocational or lecturing experience relevant to this position with an ability to facilitate and encourage learning.
