The TUHH Hamburg invites applications for the following position at the School of Management Science and Technology

Full professorship (W3) in the field of Technical Logistics

The School of Management and Technology seeks applications from candidates that foster research and teaching in Technical Logistics.

This full professorship requires profound knowledge and experience in Digitalization and Automation for the field of Technical Logistics.

We particularly welcome applications from candidates with a background in Technical Logistics and in-depth expertise in two or more of the following research areas:
  • Material Handling Technology
  • Warehouse Technology
  • Transport Technology
  • Information, communication and localisation technologies in Logistics
  • Automation in Intralogistics
  • Mobile Robots in Logistics
  • Planning, simulation and optimisation of Intralogistics systems
  • Applicants are expected to have undertaken independent research and to be capable and motivated to acquire third-party funding within the framework of the relevant federal and EU funding programmes for fundamental and applied research and through transfer projects with industrial companies.

    A strong commitment to TUHH´s mission statement “Engineering to face climate change!” is expected.

    International relations and networking are desirable.

    In addition, it is expected that the laboratory for Technical Logistics will be operated and continuously developed under the applicant's leadership.

    The successful candidate will offer courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, primarily in Logistics and Mobility as well as Industrial Engineering programmes.

    Experience with teaching students and student supervision in the field of Technical Logistics is desirable.

    The successful candidate should be prepared to teach and disseminate in both German and English.

    The position is due to commence as soon as possible.
