Role: Development Engineer Thermal Analysis
Location: Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany.
- Responsible for thermal analyses of the entire aircraft
- Creation of 1D, 2D, and 3D thermal simulations of aircraft components to ensure design requirements
- Planning of instrumentation for temperature-critical components as part of the flight test campaign
- Close collaboration with the aerodynamics team to create state-of-the-art thermal models for temperature-critical areas in the aircraft
Minimum Requirements
- Completed engineering degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in aerospace engineering
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in thermal analysis
- In-depth understanding of the thermal environment in the aircraft and its thermal behaviour during flight operations
- Experience in cooling aircraft systems and the requirements for certification tests
- Experience in thermal analysis of aircraft structures and equipment part of aircraft certification
- Experience in creating 1D, 2D, and 3D thermal simulations
- Experience in 1D flow calculations for ventilation and cooling analysis of compartments
- Experience in validating thermal analyses using test specimens or flight test data
Also advantageous are:
- Experience with commercial CFD software (e.g., StarCCM+)
- Experience with CATIA V5
- Experience with commercial 1D flow software (e.g., Amesim, Flow Simulator)
