This role is designed with a primary focus on Microsoft Purview (Data Security & Compliance).

As a Security Cloud Solution Architect (CSA), your main responsibility will be to drive customer transformation and adoption of Purview solutions, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Information Protection (MIP), Information Rights Management (IRM), and related Purview capabilities.

While a solid understanding of other Microsoft Security solutions (such as Sentinel, Defender XDR, Defender for Cloud, and Entra ID) is important, these are not the main focus of this position.

You will work closely with enterprise customers to design, implement, and operationalise Purview, ensuring their data security and compliance needs are met.

We are looking for a Cloud Solution Architect (CSA), specialising in Security, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Purview.

This is a customer-facing role, owning the technical relationship between the customer and Microsoft, helping customers to leverage their Microsoft investments through architecture, implementation, and operational health engagements.

Our Security CSAs work with enterprise-level customers on the bleeding edge of our Security solution stack, with Purview as the primary focus.

**Responsibilities**



**Customer Centricity**

• Customer Satisfaction - Drive positive Customer Satisfaction & become a trusted advisor.

• Customer/Partner Insights - Provide feedback & insights from customers/partners.

• Be the Voice of Customer to share insights and best practices, connect with Global Security teams at Microsoft, Engineering and Product teams to remove blockers and influence the solution roadmap.

• Land an end-to-end value prop for Security (i.e., Zero Trust) which spans the breadth of Microsoft Security offerings, and with focus on Data Security, Threat Protection, ID + Access Management and Cloud Security.



**Business Impact**

• Position and deliver solutions that drive Security product usage and develop opportunities to drive Customer Success business results & help Customers get value from their Microsoft investments.

• Identify resolutions to Customer blockers by leveraging SA subject matter expertise.

Deliver according to MS best practices & using repeatable IP.

• Accelerate Business Value of overall Security adoption by improving security posture and ensuring that the solution exhibits “Secure by Design” framework, such as high-performance levels, security, scalability, maintainability, appropriate reusability, and reliability upon deployment.



**Technical Leadership**

• Align individual skilling to team/area demands & Customer Success goals.

• Accelerate customer outcomes - Share expertise, contribute to IP creation & re-use to accelerate customer outcomes.

• Run Architectural Design Session to build a plan for implementing the solution – governing design in line with customer business goals and their technical environment.

Outcome is consensus on solution design and next steps toward production.

• Collaborate and orchestrate with other Cloud Solution Architects and MS stakeholders in developing complex end-to-end Enterprise solutions with the Microsoft Security platform.

• Leverage the breadth of your technical experience and knowledge in foundational security, foundational AI, architecture design, with depth Subject Matter Expertise in security to deliver the end-to-end security story for Microsoft, highlighting the value proposition using your experience in security and expertise around related technologies and concepts such as Data Security, Zero Trust, threat management, SOC monitoring (SIEM / SOAR), Extended Detection & Response (XDR) + SIEM, Cloud Security and Identity



**_In line with our Flexible Work approach, for roles at Microsoft Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, we recommend spending at least two days per week in the office or at the customer site.

The specific days to work from the office or at the customer will be defined in agreement between the employee and their manager._**



**Qualifications**



**_For Austria only:_** _The salary for this role is starting from €77 200 euros per annum depending on experience_



Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field and experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting



Expertise/experience focused on:



o Purview Data Security – DLP, MIP and IRM



Breadth of technical security experience and knowledge, Experience in one or more of the following domains:



o Data Security – DLP, MIP and IRM

o SIEM and Cloud Security Analytics

o Security Operations Center (SOC)

o Extended Detection and Response (XDR)

o Identity

• Proven ability to map the customer’s needs to technical solutions.

• Strong technical understanding of Microsoft Security Solutions and of competitors.

• Empathy, curiosity, and desire to constantly improve, acquire new skills and drive for results.

• Demonstrated technical leadership in previous roles.

• Able to quickly resolve customer escalations by coordinating appropriate resources as needed.

• Certification in one or more of the following technologies preferred: Microsoft Security architecture, CISSP, CCSP or equivalent



Business Value: The ability to convey the business need and value of proposed solutions, plans, and risks to stakeholders and decision makers.

This includes the ability to persuade and inform based on facts and alignment with goals and strategy
